Very fine composition and timing, but like Thilo I noticed the sharpening artifacts. You say this is deliberate, so I suppose they were necessary to emphasize the texture of the steps and the rocks, which are certainly a valuable part of the photo's appeal. The gradation from light (upper left) to dark (lower right) is beautifully balanced!

Great composition Paolo, it looks like a scene from an old movie drama, the child running down the stairs, and the deep sepia tones! Great textures and dramatic landscape - I love the gradations from the golden sky to the dark unknown which awaits at the bottom of the stairs. It has such a timeless quality!
