Hi Elisa! Nice to hear from you, thanks for both comments on my pictures! I use pano for showing more detail, they're actually crops, not stitched panoramas, just taking advantage of the larger format! Hugs :) Ina

Mine are not really special either, but here is a shot you should look at if you are thinking of toning Yellowstone photos. (it's also someone you might want to watch, she's good...)

Michael, you made really curious, so I'll go to see your portfolio right now (which I planned to do since I saw your panoramic) and then have a look at my Yellowstone pics at decide whether I can show anything personal or if I can process them in any interesting way. I'm becoming interested in B & W / sepia and this might be something to explore. I think I took pretty much the standard geyser shots and a bit of wildlife, nothing different from any tourist, all a matter of a 3 day sightseeing visit.

Any way I can convince you to post Yellowstone and Grand Tetons (and other famous places)? I'd argue that every photographer brings their unique vision to a location, and that by posting you would add a texture and breath to what is an interpretative media.
And also I want to see your photos because with a common location you really get a sense of someone's style and how they are different.
An example is my Yellowstone shots, Carol Watson's, and now possibly yours...

Living in a motorhome we do get around as much as we can when the weather permits so it's not beyond possibility to get to all these places. We are currently torn between upgrading to a larger motorhome and traveling more or buying a house somewhere. We haven't found a location we would like to settle in yet. Maybe we aren't meant to settle but keep moving. That sounds like a fantastic trip you did. I really look forward to seeing more of your wonderful photos Ina.
Cheers - Ann :)

Ann, if you live near the CO or WY border, you should really get there! It's lovely country up there, I was fascinated with WY, we went from Denver to Laramie, then to Jackson - Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and back through Casper. The one place you don't want to miss is the Snowy Range Bypass - Medicine Bow (I haven't posted any yet, but it's right up your alley - superb mountains and lakes). Cheers :) Ina

Thanks very much Gyuri, I belabored this one, it is not a straight sepia conversion. Ansel did this with his camera, imagine what he would have done with PS! Here I used several layers and adjusted them individually to get more tonal depth. Lots of work, but I learn something every day (I am self-taught) :) Cheers, Ina

Thank you very much Michael, you're right about the pano format, I enjoy it (even though mine are just crops and not stitched panoramas - I never had the foresight to shoot this way at the time) - the details come out better because of the larger size. And you're right about WY, I am going through my pictures and find new possibilities with the WY landscapes. I try not to post any from famous places (like Yellowstone) because it is too easy to get a good shot there. I try to find some that are not in everybody's portfolio :) Thanks for your kind words!

Oh yes you do get some wonderful skies to be sure. I suppose the sky manufacturers aren't taking on any more clients now so I probably can't order any cool skies for my landscape shots. You were lucky to get in early on the interesting sky client list. LOL
I see from this alternative image that there are in fact mesas and buttes here. Such a fascinating area. I will have to get there some day to see this place.
Cheers - Ann :)

Oh my computer's dyslexia has kicked in again. when I left my comment I made a mistake about the position of the strange portion of cloud. It starts at the top LEFT of the cloud (not right as I had written earlier) and goes diagonally down to the lower left portion of the cloud. Can you see what looks like a wave? well anyway...I still don't know what it is but it could well be a wind wave of sorts. Sorry about my mixup.
Cheers - Ann :)

Hi Ann and thanks for your great comments, I get a great chuckle from them! I have another one with more weird clouds - I'll attach here a sneak preview - for the Rocket Man (said with Elton John intonation) to look at. Go figure this one! And yes, I pre-order my clouds just to be on the safe side - LOL!

Massive, and simply a great example of why the pano function is a great enhancement to the site.
Wyoming is a land of sky as much as terrain, and stormy weather brings out the best photographs.
Crisp, strong, and a real stunning shot. I'm enjoying these photographs.

Hi Ina, Do you pre-order all your lovely clouds before you go to a location? All your recent images have wonderful skies and this one is no exception. There are certainly some unusual cloud formations in this sky. Even the rocket scietist (husband, Rod) couldn't tell me what was going on in the sky this time. The part that most intrigues me in this sky is the diagonal almost wave like section of cloud going from the top right to the lower left portion of the sky. Fascinating. Most unsual shapes, lines, curves and tones. Your PS conversion to sepia really works to add even more drama to this image. Lovely tonal depth to keep all the great details in the image. Super shadows and lovely lighting in play here. Are some of these rock formations Mesas or do they just looks like that? I love the varaing tones in the horizontal lines across these massive formations. An awesome scene Ina.
Thanks for your great comment on my Death Valley image. I guess I posted it when you weren't looking. :) Funny story about the daisy. I can just see you quickly tap dancing to get yourself out of that situation. LOL I love Death Valley and have lots pf photos of it. Funny most of my images of DV came out pretty good unlike the Grand Canyon where, because of the ast distances across the canyon, were more hazy and not as successful thus I haven't posted any from there yet. More DV shots to come.
Cheers - Ann :)

Beautiful PS work, as always, dearest Ina! I just happened to be next to you at uploading and I immediately put the shot on panoramic view. The tonality is wonderful! All three Framing Gorge presentations are tops! I love them all!And you had the opportunity to demonstrate what you can do with a shot, which means your power of creativity was at its best! Thank you for all the visits and messages at my site! Love from Gabriela
