About I'm not familiar with the species here, but this guy is a regular backyard visitor. There were all manner of birds flying about during my stay in Tanah Merah (south of Brisbane). Apart from this one, they all seemed to know exactly when I was about to click and would fly off...

hee hee! My turn to clean coffee spray off the monitor!! There were soooo many moments I could have gleefully 'shot' some birds. I swear they were taunting me and I'm pretty certain I heard laughter in the trees on more than one occasion... :)) But alas, I know your pain, could never harm one either :)

Great to hear your son is on the mend. Might be time for momma to kick her heels up a bit now...

Oh my, look at that rich color! I envy your ability to shoot this little guy...I would have to 'shoot' it to get this close ;) (bird lover...would never do that :)) I am in desperate need of a good telephoto lens...so a bit jealous here!
Really pretty image, Rina!

Little boy is SO much better!! He is actually okay to live with again as he got rather mean inbetween desperately ill and almost better! Thank you so much for your concern :) You're too sweet!

Beautiful Rina. I can't do birds. They are always on a background that's the same colour as they are or some such thing. Anyway so glad to see you can capture them so beautifully. I love the DOF used here. Looks like difficult conditions with all those leaves at varying depths. Must have confused the camera focus system. Lovely splashes of colour with the red and blue sky. Very nice lighting here. Great shot Rina. Well done.

Cheers - Ann :)

I'm so glad to see a post from you, Rina!!! You've been missed!
You must have the same problem with birds that I do...They just won't sit still long enough for me to get a shot of them! At least you keep trying...I've nearly given up! Good to see you back my friend!

I love this little bird Rina and I know what you mean when you say that they anticipate the exact moment you touch the cable release. I have SOOOO many blurred images from last year.

The colours in this lovely composition are so beautiful and rich, great details and the dof is just perfect my sweet. Well done you. Very best wishes and 'see' you soon......Ray

Wow! The colors, the sense of dimension, the crisp detail.... This is an terrific example of strong backlighting, and great timing (by you!).
