Thanks Jim. Not sure if the horizon is level, but I'm pretty sure that a plumb bob would be vertical. I wish his eye would have been clearer too. He had it closed the whole time he was standing with his head up --- probably so he wouldn't have to look into the low sun.

Thanks for the comment Ann. It sure was "very cool" --- -30F (-34C) to be precise!! Just slightly cooler than your typical down-under temperature. :)

Hi James. Must've been freezing out there. This time no indepth analysis; not much to analyse... A Bull Moose in a snowy landscape, as well captured as ever...:)

I envy you my friend. I can't even imagine what it feels like to look at such an animal out in the wild. Us city boys can only do our close ups of cockroaches. Thanks for posting this beautiful image.

It makes you appreciate what these animals have to do just to survive. "Natural life" ain't easy, those creatures live unspeakable hardships. I really like the snow over the nose, though it might have been more penetrating if the eye was more defined. Are you happy with your 500mm Canon f4?

Great winter shot. Is the horizon level? It doesn't look like it is, but it's tough to know as an armchair photographer. The only thing that would make this even better is being able to see the eye a little clearer, but you have to make do with the situation. Frankly I wish I had a moose shot as nice as this.

Now this is very cool.... and I'll bet the moose is too. I had no idea there were moose in WY. I just went all the way to Alaska to see moose and although I did see lots I didn't get a photo anywhere near as great as this one and I didn't see a bull either so this is a treat for me. I love the dusting of snow on the poor beast. Doesn't look like much of a lunch where he is. Superb exposure with all that snow. Wonderful photo. I love it.
