About On a cloudy winter afternoon, on the dining room table, soft and low natural light from windows behind and left, long 15 (or was it 20?) second exposure. I was after Old Masters light, and the blemished fruit reminded me of Caravaggio. The bowls were hand-thrown by my father. He's the artist.
As always, thank you for looking and for sharing your reaction.

A stunning work of art, Tim. The colors and tone are fantastic. I appreciate the darkness that give the photo an old world quality to it. Well done, indeed!

This one is my favorite not only because with Caravaggio I am familiar but for the mood and the light. I always like the strong contrast of lights that break trough a dusk mood.
Even Caravaggio would like your work!

More than a pear indeed !....you achieved the wonderous light and the charming artistic appeal of the fruit in the hand-thrown bowl...the light and curves delight my senses...like poetry written about the details of an enjoyable day...can you tell i like this image,Tim?..LOL..

Very nice mood...serene feel. I envy you for the ability to capture this so well in such low light. Not sure I would have that vision...maybe one day?! Looks great, Tim, and the blue of the bowl really pulls this together well.

I think you succeeded in your aim Tim. Have you tried with a slightly warmer tone, more like candlelight? Worthy of a large print, surely. Regards John
