  Q. Ethics - Black And White Photography

Asked by Girish Menon    (K=1384) on 10/31/2004
Black and white is sacred. Effective use of b&w film, using the light from the sun, zone five etc. I mean look, it is a specialized field. The ones who get a hang of it never let go of it and why would they.
I believe that the use of black and white film in studios (using artificial light only) is an insult to tradition. Also, digital files converted to greyscale using picture editors ? again I believe it is illegal and punishable by law.
A sacred form of visual art: film, tripod, cable release, manual cameras and lenses, heavy bags ? that?s what it is all about.

for photography enthusiasts to be bogged down by so called tradition is ridiculous.
