Q. Metz 45 CT4 & EOS 10D

I have a chance to buy a Metz 45 CT4 and a CT5 for 50? (each). I think the CT5 cannot be used on an EOS 10D, but haven't really found out about the CT4. As I've read only incredibly good comments about both these flashes (better then the 550EX most often), I am very intrested in them. Does anybody know if they work with a EOS 10D? Any idea about the price of the needed adapter(s)? Is it worth buying (I have no other flash at this moment, and have no money to buy an EX series), as I need a flash urgently, and shoot weddings, portrait and macros mostly.
