  Q. NEED HELP
Kevin H
Asked by Kevin H    (K=22502) on 11/10/2007
Does anyone know if the kenko extension tubes (for my D70) are compatible with my Sigma 50mm f2.8?
Also would it work with my Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG?

Thanks,
Kevin

Forgot to add that my Sigma 50mm f2.8 is a true Macro lens.

Manual should tell you something. Otherwise look at them, see if you see a reason they shouldn't fit.
If that seems to give the all clear, very carefully try to fit the lens. If you encounter the slightest unexpected friction or hit something, evaluate.

But extension tubes are basically metal rings, so I don't see any real problems.
You may loose AF and/or metering, but that's probably as the only trouble you will face.

Now were it a teleconverter you'd have to be really careful!

As to the 70-300, probably no use trying. The loss of light will make it useless.

Thanks, I am just worried that the metering won't work with my Sigma 50mm Macro.

don't worry. See it as an excuse to buy a decent handheld meter

Ummmm . . . yeah, forget the metering. Full manual and handheld metering . . . works like a charm.
