Dear Tim I had a look in your portfolio and I know for sure that youŽd also enjoy Greenland, Iceland, the faroe Islands and such places. You have a spectacular way to show the magnificense of nature in all its different ways. I hope you didnŽt fall through the ice;-) Best wishes Annemette

Well captured moody scene, Tim. The heave in the ice is easy to confuse with wide angle distortion. Beautiful! Eb

i have been resisting the tripod until now and was seriously looking at hiking monopods......but then...VR came on to the scene and i have put in a order for the 18-200mm Nikkor VR lens. I have tried it out and it is tack sharp even if i am jumping around. The 70-400mm is even more amazing but it is heavy and cumbersome so i will settle for the 18-200 and no pod what-so-ever....yeah! I am heading down to Patagonia again in a month this time I am going to try to get to Mt. Fitz Roy and Cerro Torro....hope the lens comes in by then.

Yes the blues are blue as blue can be...with a dash of fuji green. But then that is pretty much whats out there at this time of the year.

Tim:
Oh yeah, wanted to say the colors are more like Fujifilm (D80) than Kodacolor (D70)

I hear you. My shutter is not going, but I think I've pounded on it enough. I will be getting the 2 battery pack vertical grip, camerarmor, and I have a joby gorrilapod which I think I'll wrap around three hiking poles for a quick tripod.

Hi Michael,
Well the D80 seems to perform well enough. I like the addition of the auto ISO that has a max setting. The color interpretation is different from the D70 but not in a negative way just different. The battery does not last anywhere near the time line of the D70. But the biggest factor in the switch from the D70 was the fact that i wore it out. I think I shot some where near 150,000 images and the shutter just gave out. The long and short of it is I am very happy with the D80 it is getting me what i want image wise.

Absolutely gorgeous.
So, now that you've had time with the D80, happy? sad?

Yes, another good one with the 12mm lens and it's great perspective.

Great composition. I have seen your gallery over and over again and noticed that you have a flare for shooting into the sun. Apart from the difficulty that such a composition poses, each and every shot of yours with the sun in the image, is fabulous.
Congratulations - youre an explorer and a great photographer.
Cheers! http://www.photoduniya.com/
