About For MJB (http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/18663.html) after his comment on "three amigos".

Mark, in Portuguese the word for tomato has a male genter ("o tomate") and for flower it is feminine ("a flor"). Even in English, this influences how I see things...

Also for Roger Williams (http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/23297.html).

Rog, hope you like this border, too! :)

hi and welcome back by now, right? hehehe yes,we women know all! hehehe...was very tempted to join the crowd and refer to these as amigos, but figure that has already played out,so i will play it straight this time and say i like the tilted carnation bud best in the trio (or is it tria?);>
clarity,BG,color and contrast level are all well realized,Angelo and i keep thinking about that anchoring black line once image is printed...if could mount on same (as in exact shade of white)wall color, then it would be very appealing and quite striking i would think...it is unique and worth your efforts...hope your trip was enjoyable
regards,gayle

Tony,

Mainly conventional in-camera: white background, correctly exposed for white. I did "retouch" it in PS to make it 100% white. Nothing major.

Thanks for commenting.

Might be fun to combine the 3 amigas with the 3 amigos and see how they interact! The technique interests me here, did you do a fotoshop selection or use a more conventional technique or a bit of both?
..............Tony.

Chris,

The title (for the previous "three amigos" shot) is actually inspired by the 1940's or 50's Disney animation "The Three Caballeros", with Donald Duck (N.American duck), Zé Carioca (the Brazilian parrot) and Panchito (Mexican rooster).

These are the three amigas or girlfriends.

:)

Try again, Joanna: they are supposed to be ladies :)

The tomatoes are supposed to be the guys... (see other shot)

Hi Angelo,

for sure ;-)

but my guess is that a mild grey border would fit better. just my 2 cents as always.

Thilo,

I didn't think it would look right "floating in mid-air" so I gave it a "base". That's my reasoning for it.

Hi Angelo,

nice followup in the series. the green is crisp as hell. not sure about the black line here...

best wishes,

Rog,

> I don't recognize the flowers.
Carnation buds. Should've put that in the About. Will fix.

> Thank you for the dedication.
You're most welcome, sir! Thanks for the comments ;)

> So your name is the masculine form of Angela?
Yep!

Also Mario/Maria, Paolo/Paola etc you get the drift.

Roger in Brazil would be Rogério, and a lady could be called Rogéria, though that's an unusual name for a lady.

Who says UF is only about photos??? :))

It may be easier for me to change my name!

Oh, I'm sorry, Angelo. I thought you were referring to "3 amigos" (not noticing the change from "o" to "a"). Thanks for the dedication. I quite like the baseline underneath AND the lack of any other kind of frame hemming them in above. The photo itself is very creative and I like it a lot, although I don't recognize the flowers. Thank you for the dedication.

So your name is the masculine form of Angela?

Carolyn,

If you can see the photo, you're qualified to critique it :) Doesn't matter how many minutes or years of photography you have, I'd like to hear the opinion. There will be something you really like or something you really don't. That's the feedback I need from viewers, so I learn more and more what works and what doesn't.

I will take a look at your photo later today or by this weekend. I see you already got some more comments on it :)

Marilyn,

You've done it again and confused me with the great Armando. He does flies, I do flowers ;)

This is uncomplicated and creative. The pose of the one on the left makes it look like he's not sure if he is accepted by the others. Great composition.

This is another simple beauty. Just saw your bio and notice you don't care for one line comments. Oops on yesterday's comment to you. Not too qualified to get very indepth. I do like this very much. It's the blooms against the white background that makes this so special to me, that and the simple line underneath.
I uploaded the original marina photo. It has to be just about the worst photo I've ever put out, so let me know if you'd still like to experiment with it. Otherwise, I'll take it down. Thanks again.
