Howard, I have a new respect for trying to shoot lighthouses, believe me! Now that I take a second look at this knowing what I do now, I think it?s an excellent shot, not just a vacation shot etc. Like I said before, you really caught the texture of the bricks perfectly.
Well Howard, this looks too much like a vacation shot, I?d like to see this in a more dramatic setting like later in the evening, a darker sky when the light is on, maybe some storm clouds, I do like the foreground and perspective though. It?s a gorgeous lighthouse. The aging of the bricks really bring out some feeling to the place. But I know it?s hard to camp out there for day?s to capture the perfect setting, the perfect sunrise, sunset, storm, or whatever. I might have tried a off center crop also, just to see how it looks. But hey, what do I know, I?m just throwing out suggestions. Cool shot though Howard, excellent subject! It?s just that different conditions could have made for a more interesting shot is all I?m saying. It?s beautiful as it stands though. ~Mike
A beautiful image of this lighthouse! Looks like she could use a white wash! I hear Michigan is like the Lighthouse capital of the U.S. I will certainly have to plan a trip there after I finish my Florida series! :)
