wow, fantastic image of Mono Lake. i just love this area. i was just there a few months ago and the water was quite low so the formations really showed.
just love looking at your portfolio some really great stuff here.
Regards Bartock

I like the tones in this image Bren. The boardwalk is certainly a strong lead-in and the dominant space within the frame. My personal sense of composition would crop off a fraction at the bottom, just below the knot hole.

You have some fine thoughtful images in you portfolio. Thanks for you comments on my work. Regards John

wow, beautiful shot, I see you and I have the same eye for photography, I do work mine quite abit, straight photography is hard to sell as art, so I fix them up, I was a dark room tech for 12 years, so its hard for me not to anyways :) very impressed with your work here, beautiful, you from salt lake area? I have a son living in Utah

Thanks Daithí. Now that you mention it, it does have a bit of a Connemara look to it. The white rocks you see used to be part of the lake bed and are covered in salt deposits (see my other Mono Lake pics). The shoreline has receeded over the years, exposing these weird (but very photogenic) formations.

Hi Bren,

this is eye-catching as a thumbnail and way, way better enlarged!! As has been posted, it's surral with intriguing colours! I am impressed at the sharpness in the foreground falling away to a dark and threatening sky in the background. To be honest, the photo reminds me a bit of Connemara or Ivereagh Penninsula back in Ireland, especially with the hills off in the background. Nice!!!

Awesome shot Bren! Mono Lake is a terrific area; I have hiked some of the high peaks in between Mono and Yosemite. This shot has incredible balance and depth! The rest of your portfolio is excellent....I'm going back for more. Thanks for this reminder of how great the Sierra Nevada's are. ...Brad

Great shot, Bren. The composition is excellent, the wandering plank path giving this image a human context and feeling of movement I don't recall from any other Mono pix. Very nicely done.
