About My first real try at near infra red on the D70. Used an Ilford deep red gel that was designed for use with their SFX film. I made a little cardboard frame for it that fits in my Cokin P holder. Colours adjusted in Photoshop. 10sec. @ f22

Barry, I actually could not see anything through that Ilford filter, despite a bright sunny day, so I let the D70's autofocus do the work and used a small aperture. Maybe the camera's autofocus works on an infra red level, it had no trouble locking on.

Great composition and very effective IR. Did you have trouble focussing? I understand that IR focuses at a different point to visible light and that the IR filter is dark enough to make focussing tricky in any case.
