This is not my hand this is my wife's hand so I was able to wait for the bird coming in and take the picture. Quite difficult to have a sharp image because of the low light condition near winter solstice, the bird is very quick, lag time (this is a 'point and shoot digital camera') and my hand was beginning to freeze. The temperature here is very cold during winter time. We have snow that stay on the ground between december and april (we always have white christmas)!
This is a 'forest' bird and we had never seen that bird before. The name of this bird is 'Black-crapped Chickkadee' (Parus atricapillus Linnaeus) (in french : Mésange à tête noir).
I think that bird is quite easy to train to come to the hand. During the time I was shooting, there was other people that was able to have other birds coming on their hands. You have to be a little patient, calm and wait. This bird will come eating on your hand.

Great picture! The clarity is great and I love the lighting and coloring. You captured a great moment! Good job taking it before the bird flew away! I have a park similar to this where I live where these types of birds come and eat out of hands with food in it but I never got a picture... great shot! Nice job!
