Hi Andre, and thanks a lot for elaborating on the images. Somehow I guessed that you would prefer this one though the preference of most other people goes with the other one. I think that the composition of the other one is of higher "integrity", but on this one the subject itself is better.

Now of course it would be nice to have the better composition with the better subject, instead of having always something missing! ;-)

And now that you say... oil paintings in heavy frames in old English houses.. Yes, there's definitely much to it! My English teacher was Greek, but soon we realized that she was not really Greek. Anything she did, said or thought was so British! And it was exactly that kind of paintings that she had hanging in each and every room of her house. The lighting, I guess, was typical - darker, rich, heavy, if I can make it understandable. Thanks a lot for reminding me of that too!

I would really like to try some shots of that place in a portrait format. If I could only remember exactly where that place was! Somewhere between Flawil and Gossau if I remember well.

Hi Nick,
It's hard to say. I think the one with just the sun in the middle appears a little too minimalist for my liking. I like the inclusion of the main house in this one. I would have prefered if the image was compacted a little. Let's say, if the sun was not so far to the right. But then you would want to make it a portrait format. I definitely like the soft, dark colour of all three images. That is what reminds me of those old oil paintings with big heavy frames, that you see in old English houses.

Hi Andre,

and thanks a lot for the detailed nice comment. I also had a vague impression of an "oil paint"-like look on these three, but I was not quite sure. So I am very glad of course for reading your confirming comment.

I think that I prefere the other one for its "cleaner" composition, but still it is hard for me to say which one is stronger. So, if I may ask, what do you think makes this one stronger?

Cheers,

Nick

Apocalittico che dici, Simone? Molto interessante da leggere che, dal momento che ero a conoscenza di un po 'dark e solitaria, ma non apocalittico coloranti. Grazie tante per questo nuovo ingresso!

Saluti,

Nick

Hi Nick,
It seems these three have the effect of old oil paintings. I think it is a toss up between this one and the previous one which one is the strongest. Possibly this one.
