About	actually it's the Yukon. Apparently one of the most photographed places in all the Yukon (or so I have heard/read somewhere). While I was there I saw several tour buses coming from Skagway, AK pull over into the little parking area then turn around and head back to Skagway after the people had about 5 minutes to stretch and shoot pics etc!

Kalamalka Lake...just north of Winfield about 10 mins up 97 from Kelowna on the way to Vernon...breathtaking turqiouse one day deep blue the next...jade on another day...simply astounding!

Hi Susie. I really don't know what causes the colour. The white around shore is very silty (not sand), but there are no active glaciers that flow into this little lake. Could be spring fed? Thankfully I was driving my own truck, so I could spend more time there (and have a picnic by it!) Thanks for the comment. Cheers, Gary

Hi Gary,I have seen this place also,called Emerald Lake, it's really as on your picture!! This unusual composition is so great! You have captured it so well.It's a pity when people have not more time to look at this beautiful landscape.Therefore I never want to do holiday trips with buses.

Great one here. The hues and the curves are very strong elements. The low light coming from the right is doing wonders on the trees. Have you had the cance to take more on the righthand side ?
