About My intention was to try to capture the true emotion in this shot. This is a young couple that just got married and I was the last person to leave the hotel room that day, these were their final expressions before the realization sank in that they are married and they have their whole live in front of them rather than half way behind. I think the bride’s expression says it all. I took mostly “normal romantic fuzzy feeling” type wedding pictures that day but this one was for me. I thought it was an unusual capture for a wedding shot, sort of a tragic wedding photo. I chose the black and white to put more emphasis on the subjects and mood. Critiques are welcome, good or bad. Thanks for looking.

I agree with the above comment, this is a perfectly composed weedding portrait, but not typical at all, very original as we see as you say the expression on her face realizing that there whole life is in front of them and many good and bad times, you have captured this perfectly as it can be a scary thought for a young couple. reading your about and you intentions with the shot I would have to say Perfect!
Take care..

Thanks for the critique john, like you said; it’s not the regular flavor for a wedding shot. As far as the odds go, I think they have a pretty decent shot of living up to their vows. Thanks again for your critique; it means a lot to me.

Michael, I think you have done a wonderful job here. You have really captured a pair of different emotion states and when you mix that in with the wedding knowledge, it make for a rather somber image. The use of black and white does lend a tone to the image as well. The groom looking down at her hand really adds to the "not your regular wedding shot" flavor. Very good, I like it. Now shall we take odds on how long they stay married?
