Ron, This is "as is" - It is cropped from the 35mm digital frame but no enhancements on the computer.

This is a beautiful portrailt - the light and texture is wonderful. I personally would like to see the young lady looking directly at the camera - but that is just me preference.

The orientation of the image was a little confusing - from the thumbnail I thought this was 2 people dancing

Thanks Gustav, It has been cropped this way to enable 8x10 print format. If I print A4 then I can crop from the top but the 8x10 print actually looks better on the wall. I have both an A4 (about 8x11) and 8x10 displayed in my office and most comments are that the 8x10 appeals more.

Well if you are just starting out in photography you are going to do very well - I had a quick look at your portfolio and saw a great variety and some really nice work. Alone 2 is woderful and parche but wet is excelelnt technically.
Good work all around.

I think you should look for some "less busy" material. There is a lot of detail in these shots, which is why I can warm to them. Technically no problem at all. I wiould like to see you do some purer landscapes - The "Lake and the teahouse" images is a little "Less busy" It has some well define forground buildings that fram the lake and distant shore and that one is more appealing.

Roger - Thank you for the comments - You had an opportunity to punish me :-) but in the Japanese way you shamed me with your kindness. Perhaps one day I will have the courage to visit Japan and we can share a cup of warm Sake - at my expense of course - I too will look at more of your portfolio - personal email contact may be more appropriate - dtasker@netspace.net.au

The only thing that attracted me to this image was the very tight cropping in the Thumbnail - now I see the full image It is very ordinarty and disappointing - sorry

I would love to see this in colour - the total lack of detail in teh forground has me perplexed - perhaps a tighter cropping or even a little wider.

Well if I can believe that you didnt't pluck the pos to leave only 1 seed then you are a very lucky photograher :-) Seriously though thi is well done with good epth of field usage and well exposed - perhaps if the opporunity was there to have the seed pod less than central.

Lee, Yes a great place to relax except you need to walk about 12 hours to get here or 7 hours if you take a ride up a lake in a boat. I was priveledged to camp here for 2 days in the summer - great swimming and beauitiful sunsets. The Acropolis picture in my portfolio is taken looking back teh other way.

Thanks George - The Tasmanian Crater Lake was never a Crater - there is no Volcanic evidence - it is just the name given, unlike the Oregon Crater Lake.

One other thing I just noticed - the Border - as seen on usefilm is grey but the original is black and the image I uploaded is darker (border) than that present at the usefilm site.
This tells me 2 things. My JPG conversion from Photoshop reduced colour saturation and contrast
AND the upload to usefilm reduced it further.
Strange I know - I wonder if other have noticed this. Its only apparent on the black border.

Chris, Thanks for the comment. As you imagine it would be impossible to create an image to suite all monitors (brands and types) In fact - as displayed on my own 19" CRT it looks well balanced for colour and contrast. However I have to add quite a bit of Magenta and Contrast to get it to print "neutral" on my Canon Printer.
The image I uploaded has a slight magenta cast as its the final print version. I am still working on setting up a profile for my printer so that output matches the screen. On teh other side of your comemnt - most LCD screens that I sell have a higher contrast that my CRT so I am surprised that on your iMac it looks flat. Technology - woderful inconsistent stuff.

Tokk me awhile to figure out the perspective. If you had not given the comment about the wall hanging I would still be figuring - excellent work, great lighting.

What a "Clutter of Colour" note the proper english spelling of "Colour" :-)

Nice shot - the drain is distracting but I understand its relationship with your comments.
