The picture of Hollie is a tough act to follow but here you go again with a wonderful family photo with fun, action, and energy plastered all over the place. The title is perfect and no one can argue that your husband is not having fun. great shot that captures the action and the moment so well.

Wonderful work putting this together Sheila, it can be difficult deciding which image goes where in a collage but I think you've got it spot on ~ all great sharp images and when put together make a stunning presentation ~ many congrats on your award!

how can you improving?? well, first of all I need to know what the model (or you)would like to achieve from this image. Technically I like very much the texture of the skin, the high key of the overall image , it's very soft but with all the details very well "painted".
From the other side I suppose the model was not relaxed, my first expectation (looking at the global tonality) was to find a "dreamy" image but the model seems to be forced in this position... she's not dreaming , she has only closed eyes and the mouth , in my opinion, seems not natural and relaxed.
Ok.... this is the opinion of a man (me) that is not able to achieve half of your image.... :)
In Italy we are used to say : "who is able ...do, who is not able... do critics" ;)
Bye and thanks for your useful trick on the lights. Next session I'll try with the light behind.

WoW !!! It's a baby Eagle isn't it ? It's a baby bird for sure ... but eagles seem to always have the serious look... how cute and clear and what a wonderful image Robbie ! Excellent image and one I personally have Never seen before... not such a baby....so happy you were able to catch this image, and share it with us...

Hey Paulo!
I'm intrigued that Tony's critique made some of the points it did . . . everybody has their own opinion though! While I may not necessarily agree with him I always feel good when I see people making critiques . . . it gives us something to think about!
For myself . . . I liked the colors very much . . . and those red flags made for some GREAT accents. The juxtaposition of the red roof and the green tower tops (wonderful complementary colors) is awesome and even Tony admits their placement is spot-on!
As to the composition . . . I completely disagree with Tony. It's outstanding . . . and the award seems to back me up on that . . . I seldom see poor compositions carrying awards. I think the composition is perfect. The foreground, particulary, angles in a nice semi-circular arch that pulls the eye into the composition! Your right side ratio of sky (2), land (3) and water (1) is nicely broken along the rule of thirds with no centrality and that dynamic is furthered by the left-side of the composition which is sky (3), land (2) and water (1) -- Where 3 is most dominant and 1 is least dominant. All the lines, from shoreline to skyline work together in a great harmony pulling the eye into the shot.
Outstanding work Paulo . . . 7/7 (and congrats!)

It's always interesting for me that you make some "Special portraits" just with simplicity.
your materials are so simply.
you use simply light, simply composition, simply pose and even simple make up.
But the result is awesome.
stunning and a perfect intimate portrait.

I think itīs absolutely wonderful. The colours are so typical for a Northern sunset - at least thatīs my general impression from Scandinavia, Iceland and Greenland although we also have the more yellow and reddish ones:-)
An image where the soul calms down when watching it.

This is a sweet picture. It is intersting that the two girls look somewhat alike, yet both have such different expressions for this shot. Both are charming. The setting, although with some pattern, distracts in no way and makes us concentrate totally on those two lovely faces.

Hi Eb - Its a fact - if you have a camera you will ake family portraits! With 3 such delightfull kids it must have been quite fun 9with some sweat I suppose). I think you did well on the composition, using the slope to give the shot a relaxed, less formal feel creating a natural diagonal (although it might be easier to keep the baby upright on a flat surface). If I could do something to improve it would be to darken the bark and the bright leaves in the background. Not totally but only enough to prevent it from drawing your focus. The rest, including the colour,the doll and the pumpkins are great ! Regrds.

That is one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen... and beautifully captured. The textures are delicious and the constrast between the blue of the sky and the windows is gorgeous! Hmm, I must return to Italy one day with my camera... I'll put that on my 'To do' list!

I like the range of tones from the shadowy base, that anchors steadly the image, to the soft sky.
The birch has no one leaf; here the fall is now beginning. Arnoldas, is it moss on the branches?Take care.

I like such photos, especially in sepia, since they have some kind of nostalgia for the past, when the first photographic steps were bein made, in a less complicated world.
The scene is here very well fitting for the coloring, since it acts like a wide angle, where the feeling of distance comes to play - distance in space and distance in time, to the past.
Wondering what might all that people do now, that worked or lived there, how they spend their days, what their lives look like on that place by the waves and the wind.
Well balanced and quite silent.

Very nice image! Usually it bugs me when photos are off bapance like this, but it works pretty good here to provide an artistic feel to it. The colring is awesome and the clarity is great as well! I love the DOF... this is a gorgeous shot of a gorgeous piece of nature! Good job capturing it and presenting it to us! :)

Galal... I like it and I like the peaceful mood it puts me in but if you don't mind my friend, I think there was excessive sharpening of the image which makes the lines of the buildings little bit bright.
Sorry my friend, but I think I'd like to see it with little sharpness.

Outstanding photo - absoultely very peaceful and Tranquil. The off centered composition, and the near perfect reflection, with only the ever so subtle ripple in the water is great - as is the tonal range. Very well captured.

The two sides of the water creates a Jesus like image with raised hands, which really impressed me. Excellent abstract - B&W is perfect for this.
To me, the only weakness is the cropping - I would have cropped a bit tighter on the two sides to accetuate the abstract figure formation within the water.
Inspires me to suggest more - how about a multi colored water flowing with some light into it and a dark background....I think that would also be another excellent abstract composition - though different in nature from what you have here.

It sure looks like a road less travelled, albeit a very beautiful one. It makes me wonder what's awaiting at the end of the road. I like the perspective, good depth of field, soft light and the touch of bright yellow / orange fall color in the front amidst the green leaves. I wonder how it will look when all the leaves turned to the fall colors. Very nice picture and a nice composition indeed!
