Hi Susie,
many thanks for being the first one to write a comment to my photograph of Rysa Lodge ('Twilight Rysa'- the house in the centre of that frame)! I did just become a member of Usefilm.com and whilst filling in the details in the subscription forms I came upon the point of having to input a picture. The whole thing was a spontaeneous happening and it caught me somewhat unprepared that early in the morning, even though I should have expected something like that ;-) So I took the first one of my pics that, I thought, was somewhat 'presentable' and kept clicking away. That's of course no excuse but a mere try for an explanation, why I choose this pic and the way it looks: I was not realy thinking/looking and I was somewhat unprepared for what I was to be doing . . .
Now for your comment, which is highly appreciated! I was more interested in the framing of the shape of the cloud pattern and it's reflection (and the little 'crown' it put above the Lodge) than anything else when I took this frame. I am lucky and fortunate enough to live ~15m from the spot where the picture was taken, so you might come accross the lodge again in some of my future uploads to usefilm.com. About 95% of my photography happens from around my home. I'm a colours-in-the-sky-freak and cannot hold back when there's a nice 'display' (clouds, sun, moon, midnight sun, aurora, what ever . . . ) on show. I am for ever photographing the ever changing sky or/and it's reflection in the water. And I am 'hooked' to the twilight of our summer month's, when we have just about an hour of darkness (around 1 a.m.).
You are absolutly right - the picture lacks a 'something' to 'hold' it, and ususally when I print or email one of my pics, I put a thin frame around them. I should have done this here as well, but then - see above . . . It's my fault! Next time I shall try to put more thought (and time!) into it - I promisse!! I am so glad to have found usefilm.com, as I have not really got any unbiased feedback on my photography. So, please, keep coming back to my pics and tell me what you do or don't like! I can only learn! Now, please help me - I'm a Ger-man - what do you mean with "the image itself is like _quialty_ "? I have looked up in the dictionaries, but fail to find the word (but would really like to know!). If you like to contact me via email, here is my address: roc1@btinternet.com.
IF you have any idea of how I could 'update' this picturew without deleting it (and the comments!), please let me know. The FAQ only tells me how to delete it or how to change the text.
Many thanks again, to you - and anybody who bothers - for your comment and suggestions. May your camera be always loaded and you 'there' when and where it matters!
With kind regards!
Bernd

i was wondering why this image didnt have any comments, it quite a good one, maybe the fact it doesnt have a focal point, and the image itself is like quialty , The colors are nice, maybe u just need to slap a boarder around this image to finish it off.
