What is looking for? this is the difference from a "flat" image to a story telling one. Great also in B&W.

Yes, that is a factor but I think it's also about the unanswered questions. These images contain something that grabs your attention and leads you to look further, only to find unanswered questions.

You are right, it is hard to say what. May be because there are in one shot so many contrasts. Contrast between movement in the picture it self and the fact that a shot does not move ...
