Magnificent complementary colors. I might have cropped out a bit of the blue in the foreground to give a more panormaic feel to the image.

I looked at the full size image too..it is gorgeous..
The red sunlight on the one building with rest blue works very well and the Ghirardelli board stands out pretty well too..

Hi Karen,

Its a great city skyline. Amazingly, its the first time I have seen this view. I will be traveling to SF in the near future...and will look for this view with my large format......nice tones and sky...
best wishes....

Wow. Outstanding composition and mood. I agree with Dave, though. Just a little more room at the top to let the bridge structure fully vanish would have been nice. A beautiful new look at a classic monument.

Excellent. Two things get my attention. The color adds an ominous feel to the picture that is very appropriate for the subject. Second, the bridge through the island adds an element of irony. Great job!

I like the drama in this shot. It looks like a storm is approaching and I love storms. I also love the detail in the siding on the church and in the small bit of land that anchors the scene. The lighting on the crosses is dramatic and increases the feel of the approaching storm. I would love to see this larger, are you, or have you printed this and if so how big is it? Into my Favorites it goes!

Hello Karen
Your picture lacks a bit of sharpness, besides that it's very good.
best regards

you not only "observed with fascination", Karen, but photographed skillfully,as well, producing a top quality image - the sharpness would be higher if shot with a special macro lens on an SLR,but the good focusing, nice composition, perfect timing and ideal background are all credit to the photographer. Regards,Kostas

Karen,I like your photograph very much! The composition is perfect and the infrared choice very effective, while the panoramic cropping makes the image more powerful.I wish we could upload in larger sizes so as to see this photo much bigger-that's the problem with panoramic images..
I couldn't help making a few changes to your image, and I hope you won't get angry with me. If it was mine I would darken it a bit, like this. (just two PS steps: 1.auto levels 2.fade auto levels - softlight mode 90%)
my best regards,Kostas :-)
