I think this was the worst time to take this picture. Not enough contrast to make it a silhouette and the sky is at least 2 stops overexposed.

Two good things I like about this shot. The background being so busy it encases the model in a sort of a negative space. Another thing is the interplay between the girl and her shadow. Interesting work, congratulations.

Great spot, beautiful and raw. This is no tropical paradise but the visual impact of this place is wonderful. I can fell the cold radiating from this shot.

This could be a nice landscape but I think without something in the foreground or an object of interest it looks a bit puzzling.

Hey Stan. The thing that is not nice in this photo is the fact that she is getting married, just kidding. Congratulations to the lucky guy! You made her look like a movie star on the Oscar's night. Post some more, please!

Hello Radovan. Thanks for looking. I used my index fingers in front of my lens to block the strong light coming from the back wall of the canyon. The exposure was long enough for this trick to be possible. Of course I think I fired about 30 shots before I got it right. This is the advantage of digital photography, that You can see the results instantly. Back in the film days this trick would be costly and not so easy to achieve.

Thanks Bill. Good remarks and suggestions. However the image cannot be used in advertising because I lack the required model releases. My background is in editorial photography, but I am working on transition into the commercial field. Thanks for stopping and taking time to write such a thorough comment.

Great observation skills, no doubt and very successful shot. In my opinion the sky is too dark, there is just blackness. Good handling of the lights, no trace of overexposure, even though it was late in the evening. I like the pattern of the moving traffic, this is probably the strongest element of this photograph.

Roger I am talking about exposure. Exposure, in simple terms is the amount of light reaching the film plane or the digital sensor in a camera. If too much light is allowed, the bright areas usually get overexposed which translates to lose of detail as can be seen in the above picture. In some journalistic shots where the main subject is action in front of the lens it is acceptable to ignore exposure in order to get the culminating point of the action. Here I have to admit I see none of that. To me it looks like a night city scene, where the author of the picture had plenty of time to set his camera and calculate the exposure. I understand You are trying to be nice to Your friend, but I like to write what I feel when I view a picture. Let me know if You have any other question. I will be happy to answer them for You.

I think there is a sad mood behind this image. What caught my attention are the girl unrealistic proportions. Common day angel wrapped in unrealistic splashes and dry brush strokes. Great work. How long did it take You to make this picture?
