Great light on this one Dave....the foreground looks so cold in comparison to the golden warmth on the church.
Really nice!

Hi Dave: This is has great contrast in the stonework and the tree branches in the bg.
I think that the snowfalling has a cool white grain effect...really good work!
ps; are you shooting in b&w mode or turning it into grayscale in photoshop?..just curious cause sometimes I may do that do a color shot

Hi Dave...been having a look at some more of your work....really quality images.!
i get the impression that you spend a lot of your time around planes...maybe even pushing tin!..Originally I'm from Toronto, ( not I live in LA), but I spent a lot of time around planes and hangars growing up...still love the smell of new fabric doped on an old frame...oh well...anyway...look forward to seeing more of your images...keep up the good work!

Wow...Mark...seems like the pork shot hit a nerve....sorry...Having spent time in a few 3rd world countries myself , you're right ..pork is a mainstay. Having owned a 300lb New Hampshire as a pet....they're incredibly resourceful, essentially clean, and bloody smart....
The guys in the photo looked like they were enjoying themselves....I see them around the hills all the time, they're friendly, plus they get rid of rattlesnakes as well. No religious inuendo was intended either, either you eat them or not... I could care less about that... I just happen to like them!
Good Luck

Great shot John! I like the fact that the birds are at different distances from each other.. gives a great sense of the depth of field, separating the foreground from the horizon

I recall seeing these wonderful old buildings dotting the landscape of rural Ontario...I spent my childhood in Muskoka...and now I live in Los Angeles....brings back winter memories of gazing out the car window seeing the old dilapidated farm houses in the distance...
Great shot Royce...thanks!

A great shot Dave! I dig the almost painted quality to the composition, the depth of field is terrific, the reddish log structure breaks what could have easily been a monochromatic theme...very nice!

Hi Sam:
Thanks for your comments on the Holland Rd shot
I had a look at your portfolio and you have some good ideas... you've done really well with capturing some cool moments in self portraits!
I think you'll do even better work as you progress, by continuing to experiment and maybe along the way upgrade your equipment.
Keep at it..and good luck!
