Rule #1 of firearm safety: never point your weapon at anything you are not willing to destroy. :)

Great shot. I come from a family of hunters and I can't seem to convince them that shooting them with a camera is so much more difficult.
Well done.

I like this one even more than your BIP, although I don't exactly know why. Very nice.

I see a lot of hummingbird shots, but rarely this sharp. He has beautiful coloring, too. Great shot.

These are all very cool. It's hard to make an abstract interesting, but you do it well.

Really cool place. So hard to photograph and give people a sense of the place. I like this one.

Spent all day in Redwood NP up there and didn't get one this good. Actually, we didn't get one at all. Those Elk were bedded down and hiding for some reason and we just couldn't stay another day. So, from that standpoint, I'd say the lighting wasn't all that bad! Sometimes they just don't pose for you, right? Great shot!

Great journalistic shot, I would like to see the hippie's face in it though.

And not that it's relavent, but I don't have a problem with it either. :)

I like what you've done with the retouch. My friends all seem to be having babies and want pictures of them. I decided to do some studying (babies aren't my thing!) and found yours, my favorite by far.

Great shot. I like the foreground and the fact that the bolt seems to be emerging from the cloud.

I've been trying to catch some good lightning but all of my digital shots come out with too much noise. I was planning to try some with my film SLR instead to lessen the noise. Unfortunately we get about one good storm per year here!

I would be interested to see what your's would have looked like without the noise.

Thanks! I did take the shot at the full 300mm and it was very tough to get the shot sharp. Two things helped:

First, my other hobby is target shooting. If you shoot a camera the same way you would shoot a rifle, it helps keep it steady.

Second, I shot continously for about 10 frames. Only about half came out well.

I appreciate the comment!
