here in portugal we have something that is called 'Fado' wich turns us into shadowy creatures with no joy... the picture is from the oldest village in Portugal and I tried to capture all of our national sadness and recolection of much better times. Never the less thanks for your commment and i'll try your sujestion on focusing on the old man. you've made a realy good cunstructive comment and helped me understand a little more about photography. I hope you take some time to see my other photos and make insigthfull comments as you did with this one. thank you.

Apesar de não me ter captado automaticamente a atenção após um olhar mais cuidadoso apercebi-me da força desta foto.
Consegue transmitir a imponencia e a beleza do edificio.

Sendo uma igreja gosto da ideia de o edificio sobresair do meio da escuridão... uma foto muito poetica a meu ver!

you really managed to caprture and deliver a strong image. I have to disagree with the last comment, although it does add tension to the image it's a bit too much things in the front.. maybe if you could eleminate the first from the left support you'd maintain a strong tension and make it a more simple image

I think the lighting is too flat. In other words too uniform, without subtle changes of mood lightning. Otherwise it is a good capture of a special moment.

I've seen other works of yours in this type of pictures and I say: Good Woork.
Keep doing this thing you do.
I had no intention of saying that you shouldn't post it here. That's not my decision to make.
You're right you should post the best works you have!
My ratings were given based in the assumption that ratings only aply to photos, so I rated poorly just because it wasn't a photo and thats the reason of my comment: only to justify such a poor rating in a fine good picture.
I'd like to take the oportunity to praise your 'Butterfly'and your 'Colored dancer' wich I think are Excellent.

I think the picture is not well balanced, probably with more detail in the top right corner (where we see what apears to be a smal forest) you could enhance the 0verral efect of the picture.
