Thanks Dave, I agree about the windshield. I'll fiddle with that a bit more. I am not happy with the windshield retouches I've tried so far.

Sometimes, maybe due to timing an image will slip through. Thank you for your well worded review.

Are you sure that isn't a Canadian mosquito, that appears to be exact size on the screen

Hello Domjan this shows it's the photographer behind the camera, not the technology! The image works well in what's really browns and greens. This simplicity makes the composition stronger. I recall eons ago where I made a close-up lens by taking apart an old wide-angle and tele auxillary lenses and switching the front and rear parts. This gave me 2:1 when mounted on front of my old Spotmatic II. I had to make a 49mm to series 6 stepdown ring in my high school machine shop. Experiment more, you are on the right track.

Good action shot of a RAF Puma HC-1. This is the type of shot that appeals to aviation enthusiasts as it looks "tactical" as opposed to an airshow shot that often has distractions, like consession stands or a baricade of some sort. I am jealous as it looks like an air-to-air shot! The composition is helped by the diagonal line of flight and room in the frame so the bird has a place to go into the frame.

Well done.

I used film for 35 years, I have switched to a dSLR about 6 weeks ago. Ok I still still have some Kodachrome 64 in my LX, but damn digital is fun.

Good strong diagonal composition, well rendered colours, nice and noise free.

Never say never, this activity created auroras in both hemispheres. This one was as far south as california, and the southern lights were about equal distance north. .

Overall nice capture. I see you are using very basic equipment, but you managed to get a good feel of the aurora. There could be more as there has been a few more major solar flares today. These will take 24-36 hours to effect Earth. I found 30 seconds @f:4-6.3 worked for me. So at 15 secs try 2.8-4. And a solid tripod.

I am pleased for the SC vote. I am pretty well sold on digital. This image is very much like a Velvia image. My tweaks were minor. Here is the original image;

Good portrait of some type of Katydid. Nice use of a diagonal element, although I would try to keep it off center a bit more.

I would do a slight colour correction to keep the roadway grey. It probably was warmish because of the light filtering through the leaf canopy. With PhotoShop it is easy to locally colour correct the asphalt to be neutral. The brain plays tricks whaen we perceive something to be off colour.

Nice S-Curve which is a very strong compositional element. The colours a lovely. I would have taken this as well and then maybe waited for a second shot with a human element. Wait for a appropiate coloured sports car, bike whatever. This is not to say this shot isn't a wonderful image. You could have a series of winners from one shoot.

Does it come with wafers...

I think you are influenced by my "found numbers" series, here is a number 6. Maybe a ISO boost to allow a bit more DOF, which is hard to do on this guys.

You should try that with a 14mm lens

Ultra-wides are fun! Good exposure in what I know is a tricky exposure. Good point-of-view, and nice sky.

The image is deep red due to the extreme filter. The 87C is visually opaque, and only passes IR. I have just started to explore the digital Infrared genre. Perhaps if I was out earlier I may have caught the cloud bank.

The Museum is a great work of architecture in the daytime. But it has these little gems at night. Douglas Cardinal's vision was well captured in this night shot. I do like available darkness and may have tried it a bit darker, or toned down the lighter areas at the top of the frame. Nice warm image.

I have flown on it, and she flies great. This a/c was fully rebuilt at Air Canada's Montreal maintenance facility, and Pratt & Whitney Canada rebuilts the engines to zer-time specs.

It's certainly fits the title. I would like to see the center a bit sharper, and maybe 10-15% darker just to retain some more detail in the highlights.

I love this shot, I am an aerogeek, but wow this shot is a wonder abstract. This is a scene that many would never have even seen, let alone even photograph. Superb sharpness, great colour saturation. There may be a touch too much post shooting sharpnening as I see just a hint of edge artifacts, but they don't degrad the image for me to downgrade my score based on impact.

This is the original, as the artist I decided a warm tone B&W worked better with this image.
