They are indeed very different birds, the american robin being actually a relative of the european blackbird. It wrongly got the name robin from the first settlers because of the orange breast reminding them of the european robin.

Cheers,

A.

Sandra,

Thanks for the comment! I totally agree with you, but the flat lighting of an overcats day does that. I would've prefered to see a life light in that eye :)

Regards,
Adrian

UF sharpening (even set to low) was a bit heavy handed on this one, but I'm too lazy to upload it again ...

Dank U! I was very pleased with it, a classical pose, very clichee, but rewarding nevertheless

thank you! I was pretty amazed by the outcome of the combination of strong overhead sun and background shadow. it looks like a studio staged shot, except that it's not

Thank you! The exposure of the flower could've been better, but I was pleased with the DOF on the fly.

Amazing detail on the bird! Composition-wise, I'm not sure about the large space to its right ... it doesn't really work for me ...

Cheers,
A.

Good job on the exposure control! You've got black feather detail without blowing the white patch on the Canada goose. Well done!

PS. Isn't that lens f2.8-f3.5? Not that it would make a big difference

Ha?! Olympus e-500!? Felicitari! Sa il folosesti sanatos!

Now about the photo, I like the "dreamy" feel of it, but I feel the blown highlights a bit distracting.

Nice shallow DOF and composition. Maybe it could've used a frame to delimit the upper part of the photo, to prevent the white on white (dut to UF's white background).

And the cherry season is long gone by now ... thanks for the memory

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment! You are right about that overexposed grass. The deer was resting in the shade so the camera had to struggle and the highlights were lost. I'll try your suggestion! Thanks!

From the moment I've first seen a Passiflora it reminded me of an alien spaceship. Your version of it does even more so!

Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Lovely bird and a beautiful pose! I would've like to see the bird more in focus instead of the water, but I agrre it might be a message you'resendingf with it and it didn;t make it to me.

Lovely composition and colors! It that a real camel? I mean, it seems to have 2 humps and afaik in Egypt they only have dromaders (1 hump).

It certainly is, we just came back from a holiday there (fortunately far away from the attacks). This is an "idealized" western's view I'd say. The bedouins are using for their trips mostly jeeps and quads.

Thanks for looking and the comment!
