Hi Chuck,
Cheers for that, but I was on a beach and it was her face I was exposing for, not her boobs...

Thank you Sanjeev. Yes you are right, that's about how we felt. We didn't say much for quite a long time actually. We both had to get out of London for a bit. This is what we were watching in the fields behind the camera:

Tom

The image is really nice, the spider's web especially...but to my eyes the border is pretty horrific, and distracts from the simplicity of the image...personal taste though...!

Cheers,
Tom

Hey Bruno,

love this...the sort of shot I would love to have taken. Keep it up man, you have a very good eye.

Cheers,
Tom

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for you comment, you've pretty much hit the nail on the head there. I didn't realise it at the time, but my photos of Hong Kong speak volumes about how I was feeling at the time. I think my subconcious response to Hong Kong came out in my images...there are more to come.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Stefan,

I had an Electro 35 GT, got some lovely pics with it, but needed some money so sold it haha. Yes you're right, a lot of them have degraded light seals, but it's still a camera from an age where quality was the norm, rather than today, when the manufactures do their best to cram as much plastic into a camera as possible.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Shawn,

Many thanks for your comment, but I don't agree! ;-) I'm very particular about every aspect of my images, and if I thought it looked better with a crop across the top, I would have done so! I experimented with it, but I think in photographs it is important to let the subject "breathe"...and to to me a crop reduced the effectiveness of the tyre. But if you think it would look better, then that's cool, vive la différence! It would be boring if everyone felt the same.

Cheers,
Tom

Hi Larry,
This is a fantastic abstract, I love it. The eye is led to all sorts of different places...
I can't help but notice those bricks in the bottom right corner though...they distract my eye very slightly from the great details in the rest of the picture.
Did you consider cropping it?
Regards,
Tom

Hi David,
I love the way the photo seems to swirl, the different shapes and colours of the composition play against each other brilliantly.
It's a shame it's not bigger.
Cheers,
Tom

Hi David, never mind about the camera and the quality, I love the feel of this photo. I can feel the morning heat brewing...the sun's wild out there.

Here's another one, slightly less underexposed. Not sure which one I prefer. Again, I haven't boosted the colours, just added a border.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your comment! Yes...it's gorgeous. What I didn't include though was the apartment blocks lining the shore to the right. Rampant seafront development has taken the edge off the beauty of many of the resorts. Solution: Get out of the resorts and explore! It was my first time in Spain and I'm gonna be back.

There's still a nip in the air at this time of year...but I still managed to get in 4 days of quality sunbathing on the roof of the Hostel I was at...!

More Andalucia photos to come...

Cheers,
Tom

Thank you for your comments! Why not in colour? I think colour would have distracted from the contents slightly. Plus, grey was kind of how it was meant to be.

I think this is beautiful. I like photos that make you think a little...rather than laying it out on a plate.
Beautiful, imaginative image and caption.

A very beautiful image, but to me the sky looks rather overworked and unnatural, which takes away from the beauty. It's just personal taste though!

Hi Giuseppe,
A beautiful haunting image, I love the contrast in texture between the sky and the land.
Maybe to my eyes just a touch overexposed? Or did you mean this effect?

Tom

Hi Hugo,
I quite like the slight overexposure here. I like the stark feel it gives the photo and the I think it gives the wheels a slightly abstract quality that really appeals.

Tom

That's incredible Stefan. So original, as is the other work in your portfolio. What did you project the refractions on to? And was it then inverted into a negative?

Tom
