Critiques From Tom Fant

Thanks for the critique Harry. I have a shot with the top of the pistel in focus
but it was rejected in favor of this one, the judges saying that this image draws the
viewer further into the picture. Viewing photographs is a purely subjective endeavour,
which is fine with me, as long as images sell it matters not. I sold 3 of this one
and 1 of the other.

This magnificent image belongs on bookcovers for science fiction or fantasy, horror, etc.
You should contact the Science Fiction Book Club and other publishers. This image
may very well get you an assignment for bookcovers.

A "classic" sunset. It is shots like this that keep a cliche' subject such as
sunsets fresh and appealing to amateurs and pros alike.

Excellent shot. Very surreal. Should turn heads for a 2nd look.

Great composition. One of the best b & w winter shots I've seen.
Great title.

The angle, in my opinion, is what represents the title. It gives the impression
that if someone was on the ladder they would not know which way to go, up or down,
or is a metaphor for the proverbial "fork in the road", or no future. Great shot.

Sandy, This image is a true work of art. To me it represents the struggle in creating
those images that reach out and touch the masses. This image should turn the heads of
those who still do not see photography as art. You have a gift that inspires even the most
seasoned artists, and photographers.
