Beautiful job, the photo is special because it brings back memories of summer fun on the beach. Well Done. Look at my summer fun photo taken on the shores of lake Michigan.

Theres that look of concentration again. Good choice for a crop, way too much magenta in this shot though Lexie, could be reflections off the bucket (pail).

Side By Side... For The World To See... To Sea...
With the apparent Post Scriptum work... feel that the background horizon could use some attention... to allow the eye to concentrate upon the apparent real focus point of Father & Child...

Evoking a smile with both the image and story around it. You do a good job making it look very 50's the muted colours and vignette are wonderful. I think he needs a bit more sun though heh

It took this viewer a while to appreciate the pose of the multiple players in this scene...
but then...
its all about gymnastics...
only regret that it is not sand... but a simple carpet...
and by the way, do suggest to the one with the engagement ring... that she could improve upon her manicure...
otherwise good capture...

A cute kid and a touching scene! Very good! Regarding my Begonia 2, I use an automatic camera with no manual settings. To get a decent image I have to fool the sensors.

There are really interesting elements in this such as the engagement ring and the tattoo. I like the way you have put them together in this shot! I agree with Jamie on the magenta, but I supect that is the scanning as you mentioned. Good job!!

I like the lines in this Lexie but its a rather confusing tangle of a shot, looks like a couple of people playing Twister. Looks a bit noisy and has too much magenta but I think as you said that was the scan.

Elangs: This is not a toned print. Cyanotypes are naturally blue.
Cyanotype is one of the easier alternative processes to try if you want to get your feet wet. It doesn't really require a darkroom or fancy equipment. Here's a description with instructions:
http://www.bostick-sullivan.com/c_cyano.htm
Since it's a contact printing process, you'll want at least a medium format negative. An inexpensive way to get a reasonably large negative without getting into large format is to use a Polaroid pack film camera and shoot type 55 pos/neg film.

I think I like this one more than the first. The asymmetry gives it a better feeling of motion.
Cyanotype is a good choice as well. There is something about the blue image that contributes to that sense of instability here. Just out of curiosity, I looked at the image in Photoshop and desaturated it, and the effect is completely different--more like a scene from a horror movie with that low, upward pointed light.
