I agree with Dave. Brave and bold. But I vastly prefer the elegance of the pose in newer version.

Outstanding composite. Expressive and telling. Brave and bold. Well done.

Elangs: This is not a toned print. Cyanotypes are naturally blue.

Cyanotype is one of the easier alternative processes to try if you want to get your feet wet. It doesn't really require a darkroom or fancy equipment. Here's a description with instructions:

Since it's a contact printing process, you'll want at least a medium format negative. An inexpensive way to get a reasonably large negative without getting into large format is to use a Polaroid pack film camera and shoot type 55 pos/neg film.

This does not actually promote the Gymnastic abilities of the photographer... never the less it is a creative composition... and BB & ES say it well!

Lexie, Thanks for your post in the forum about alternate process.

This is a superub image. You have done a wonderful job on every department in this print. Self Portrait as such is so tough. On top of make 8 parts of your self and glue them in the print and tone them (cyanotype)... This is a really really great picture.

Oh... Boy! right now, its all dream to me. I have not done any regular printing myself. Though Developing and printing is part of my curriculam, I skipped it as it is an optional lesson. Now I m all interested in doing all that... but investing money on the equipments is not a good idea until I m committed to doing more of this. Thats why I am looking for a lab! Well... Until I motivate myself, I wouldnt do this... But I m sure, someday, I will certainly experiment and get some great prints.

Thanks again.
Elangs.

Amazing!!! I love the way the images really don't line up, but the image as a whole is cohesive. Very Cuist and Hockney!!! I also love Cyanotypes, gotta love the hand-made aspect and at times unpredictableness of it.
