Cheers Cathy. I too was pleased with the very dull and neutral colours that were present in the background of this shot, it really brings out the colours of the macaw. I think the main reason for this was that the background fell in the shade whereas the macaw was not :)

Nicely timed amd observed, Scott. I've never really thought before how the fronds on the palms mimic the wings on parrots (or vice versa). You've got me confused with this one though, I'm from Adelaide and there ain't no rainforest within cooee. Was this taken in Botanic Park?
