Thanks for your kind comments. Regarding the background & how did I shoot these images at the show: I bring with me a small fold-out black background (a car's sun-shade). After setting up the camera on the tripod, and choosing angle, I fold out the background slip it behind the orchid and push the shutter release button in one swift move. The setup usually takes up 95% of the time, slipping the background behind the orchid & taking the picture only takes 15 seconds. And it really helps getting to know the orchids owner, tell him your intention and share with him the photos. I find most of the time, the owner really welcome to the idea.
Dear Ut What a beautiful youngster. I love the cheeky hairy peduncle and petals. I guess this will be a Paphiopedilum callosum, do you agree? Well chosen black background. How could you do this? When I was at the last exposition there were so many people I could hardly move not to mention changing the background. It makes a nice contrast. It is good to see pictures of another orchid addict.
