Thank you so much for the kind comment. I believe the common name of this orchid is Spider, but I will ask the grower for the scientific name when I see him. I also post an answer for you in the Nature Photography Forums, regarding the "portable background". Your comment has motivate me to continue capturing orchid images. Thanks again.

What a marvellous picture of a beautiful orchid. I don't remember the name, do you? Excellent colors and the black background makes a good difference. From my own experience I know how difficult it is to take pictures at an exposition. All around, behind and in front there are people and mostly you only can find bad lights. Capturing a fitting background is almost impossible. So you made an excellent job. It is a great pleasure for me to see pictures of somebody who is sharing the same passions. Best regards, Brigitte.
