I loaded your pic with noise ninja to show what that program can do with severe noise. Of course there is naturally some loss of detail but the noise is not so distracting. I agree, you are probably oversharpening. Still, pretty good to get so close to this kind of bird.

Thanks, Paul, for your interest in my photo. I truly appreciate that.
I do not know what caused those suspicious spots. I pulled the original RAW image captured by the camera and found the same condition. The spots are not as a result of digital manipulation. It almost looks as if there is two reflections. As you so aptly put it, dunno. As for the noise, please see my answer to a similar comment.

Thanks, Robin, for your comments... I use PhotoShop Elements 3.0 after I have converted from RAW to TIFF. I always shoot on RAW. I resize the photos for transmisson using that program. I use Picture-It to print the photos on Epson Double Sided Matte Paper or Kodak Soft Gloss Picture Paper. I have a tendency to oversharpen because of my eyesight which is what happened to this submission.
For those shots that I want to print is a larger format, I use film in a Bronica SQ and have the prints mad by a custom lab.

I've marked the areas that seem to be a copy overlapping the original...dunno.

I usually shoot at ISO 400 or 800. I aasumed thh was at 400,it may have been faster. At this point I'm not certain. I didn't straigten it so I don't know what the effect is you are referring to.

This is really noisy for just ISO 400...was the grain added? Also, it seems you straightened the copy of the image, but the original image was still behind, leaving an odd repeat along the lower and right-hand edges, Bob.

Hi Bob,
I enjoyed your portfolio...realy nice shots and captures. I wonder what kind of software you use to resize(?) your photos.. Some of them have realy a lot of texture...(this is one of them). I'm workin' with the same equipment (Canon Rebel and the Tamron) and I can learn a lot of your photo's.. Thank again, grtz, Robin

Ouch... The noise on this is pretty intrusive, looks more like ISO 1600 then 400!
