About: "I photograph people: as environmental portraits at work and at leisure, in private settings as well as in public and professional surroundings, in everyday life situations, as staged single or group portraits, in business and family gatherings, in the personal ambiance of home, in the office or factory, in selected locations or in the studio". Born in Germany in 1953, Uwe encountered photography first time in his life when he was eleven years old. He is a self-taught photographer and since 2001 has devoted himself full-time to freelance work photographing people in unique and creative ways. Until the late 80's Uwe worked as a part-time photographer for German newspapers, corporations, actors and various artists. During this time he also worked in sales, marketing and general management for the software and new media industry. In the 90's he focused mainly on this kind of work. Since starting full-time work in photography in 2001, Uwe has developed comprehensive skills in digital image editing, beauty retouching and digital composing. Maintaining his skills as photographer on a continuous basis, he has attended many photography workshops in the last three years with Anders Petersen (Sweden), Alfred Steffen (Germany), Martin Parr (Magnum, UK), Michael Gnade (Germany), Friedrun Reinhold (Germany), Bob Sasha (National Geographics, USA), Bruce Gilden (Magnum, USA), Isabella Wirth (Germany), Paul Elledge (USA), Leasha Overturf (USA).
