Dear Sanjeev (and Judi), My father used to always stick his thumb in front of the lens. In a sense it spoiled the photos but in another it added value It added context. Feedback and fuzz were both considered mistakes in electric guitars untill people like Jimi Hendrix made them sing. Surely the grain of high i.s.o. film or the low contrasts of old lens, flare and ghosting were all considered weeknesses in images untill well used. Wasn't sepiatoning a neccesary evil for helping images to last? Now a desired digital effect. Surely black and white images were a frustrating product of the limitations of history at the time? Smoking and drinking whiskey neat has had now desired effects on the human voice, 100 years ago considered the ruin of it. I think any less noise and the beautiful appearance of this bird out of its background would be lost. There's even something roman and mosaic about it if you think about it. It is a lovely event captured because of Sanjeevs eye and the olympus c170 4x digital zoom was there. What happened to the Samsung 202 by the way Sanjeev? Hillary took a terrific photo of Tensing Norgay on everest with a kodak he'd bought second hand. In some respects the pursuit of the noiseless digital image is the persuit of sterility(Though I do hope to produce some soon...). Granny is more likely to buy the neatimaged poster I suppose but we have a terrific diary here. Not getting on any high horses Judy but just for the sake of discussion thought I'd raise this point, seen it a few places. Maybe I should chuck it in the forums. Cheers. Happy new year to you both by the way, Judi your developement has been amazing to watch.

I think you should follow your heart Sanjeev. You are going to come across many different opinions in this field and you are the one that has to be happy with it.

I really wish there was less grain in this image. The composition is great but needs to be brought up more.
