Thanks, Steve for your comment and interest.
No, it is not in the negative sense that "weed' has in English. I would say it is just a wild plant much appreciated for the brillian colors, mainly yellow, that it has during Spring and Early Summer. In the South of the country, they made vegetal fences with them.
