Keith,

So kind of you to say! I am flattered that you think it a good shot. I have been pleasantly surprised at the number of comments I'm getting. Sometimes, you catch a gem on a whim.

I think it was more like "can I trust this guy?".

Mike,

And there were more than 2 in the bush, let me tell you. This particular spot had woodpeckers, nuthatches, tree sparrows, blue jays, and chickadees (of course) galore.

Peta,

I know what you mean. This is where my camera really falls down. I'm really pushing it in low light situations. I am not pleased with its performance above ISO 100. I try to compensate in the processing step, but it doesn't always work.

Thanks for commenting.

Dave,

Sunflower seeds. You'll have them eating out of your hand...pun intended.

So these birds do actually land on people's hands? I learn something new every day. Photographically, it's very nicely done. You have the path and the tree line, and blending in is your hand and the bird. Quite sophisticated, actually.

Very original, Todd!! WOW!!!! I really like what you've done here! It's a tougher shot to get than what it looks like. Your hand really ads to the composition, and gives a sense of just how small (and cute) these little birds are.

Great idea for the perspective! :0)

Excellent capture! Your hand really adds to the visual and gives a great perspective. It looks like the rule of thirds fits this shot well! The bird seems to be posing for you - "This is my good side!"

original shot Todd, fantastic. I think I would have tried to lighten him up or increase the contast to make him stand out against the bg. :)

Great photograph, a bird in the hand is worth more than two in a bush. Amazing shot.
Always good at your titles too.

Excellent photo! I love this... it is so clear, especially for a picture that close up... I love it! There is a place right around where I live where chickadees land on my hand, it is so fun, and you captured that wonderfully! Next time I'll have to try to get a picture of it! Excellent work, I love it :)
