About This is the stamen of a hybiscus. I got a macro lens today for an early Christmas present from my mom!!! I got home late so I didn't get to fire too many pictures off before the sun went down.

Wow, congrats on the Christmas present! I guess it begged to be opened before the big day, huh? And that Dig' Rebel is just too good to be without a macro lens. This photo really does look like a solar system. I keep commenting a lot about how nature seems to repeat and re-assign shapes and patterns all throughout, even flowers and universes. But here in this photo, no hint of violence or chaos; just goodness.

Congratulations on getting the new toy Kelly. I see you are putting it to good use already. This may look like a solar sytem to you but it looks like I am flying through a gold nugget asteroid field to me the way it sparkles. The clarity in this image is great and the detail is superb. I love the colours. If this is your first macro using the new lens I can see we are in for some really neat images coming up. Very nice.

Cheers - Ann :)
