City - Birmingham Bull Ring State - ST MARTIN'S CHURCH Country - United Kingdom
About
A most curious modern design for a font, just inside the main entrance to the church of St Martin in Birmingham's Bull Ring.
'from the neck of the city entering discourteously through electronic doors you are plunged into a new universe able to pause for cleansing water to bless before turning westwards where broken glass has been renewed above your head...'
From 'st martin's in the bull ring', which can be found at
Ha-ha! Must admit, Roger, I was rather taken aback myself when someone told me this was 'the font'. Some traditional styles were created for a reason...I suppose these might be okay for multiple baptisms if you had multiple vicars and assistance available...
