About This is the first photo which was not taken at my house. Anyways, Nadia Stanke (check out her portfolio) and myself were feeding the birds on the River Torrens when this colourful character appeared. I'm not sure what species of bird it is but it had freaky feet and enjoyed my sandwich very much :P Enjoy!

Looks like the Eastern or Purple Swamphen Michael.

I like the way you've got the pictures getting closer and closer anticlockwise from top right, it makes a good composition.

I believe this is a species from the freakyfeetavarious family of birds. A rare find indeed. :) Great collection of images you've put together here Michael. I like the different poses and angles. Like a postcard. Very nice indeed.

Thanks also for your comment on my Canyon Colours image. I did reach a dead end in that shot but didn't have to climb up to get out. I did have to climb down to get out of that tight canyon though but made it with just a few scratches. Another member commented that many of my photos involved some sort of stunt to get them and in some cases it's true as I'm on my belly or getting drenched or otherwise uncomfortably inconvenienced.....but I do get some lucky shots for my efforts sometimes.

Thanks for dropping by.

Cheers - Ann :)

Wow, this could possibly be the ugliest bird I've ever seen :P
Cool "montage", even though I don't really know what that is hehe. Can't see any major critcisms in the result, but next time take a picture of something that doesn't look like it's beak is inside out :)

Nice montage Michael! I was just wondering if you could achieve a better effect by flipping one or more of the pics to make the direction that it's facing inwards on more of them, or, I don't know...did you experiment with the horizontal flipping at all? After looking at it for a while longer I think you made the right choices anyway though.
...A good selection of photos that manage to evoke that freaky bird's funny style of walking, and lovely colours too. Congrats!
:)
