Hi mark, thanks for your comments. To answer the square crop question, before UF I didn't use it in photography, but my artwork tended naturally toward the square format. Now that I know I'm going to use the square crop, I compose a lot of my pictures with that in mind. But it's not always possible. Sometimes you lose things when you crop them out, so I make a judgement as to what is more important - the square or the whole.

I have noticed the square or mostly square crops you so often do. Each time I notice that it seems that there is something magical about the square crop. I find that many of my images don't seem to take the square crop as well, though I expect that much of that is my underdeveloped eye for doing it. Need to try that more... Do you shoot with the square crop in mind?
Mark

Thanks Mark :) my pleasure. I never used the square format before UF, but I find it suits me very well. Some crops don't work with the square, but most of what I do here does.

My goodness Ina, thank you for your kind and thoughtful dedication! *OO* <--I'm blushing! While I am undeserving of mention most certainly, thank you so much!
As to this glorious image, you have so expertly seen and captured this interlocking bouquet of colors, so beautifully segmented by the twigs/braches. Stained glass indeed, and even more beautiful! Your eye for seeing such patterns and bringing them out to us in these images in unsupassed. Thanks for doing it yet again!
Also, in looking at the uncropped original I think your crop was very clever. Your choice of cropping has removed some of the perspective, flattening the image and making it appear even more like a panel of stained glasswork. Bravo!
Mark

Lovely pool of colours, but quiet hues only! The play of light and shadow is great and those slim branches help keep the colours locked in and our eyes from not slipping over the edge. Gabriela

I guess an Art Deco artist would appreciate this stained glass plan. To see the original is very instructive - excellent post-processing. Best: Gyorgy

Thanks Kathy, I've got my own red barn series (!), but I think now the leaves are seasonal, so are the pumpkins. I think I couldn't post fall leaves or pumpkins in December, let's say. I also have a bus series, etc. Lots to keep me going for a while. I love barns - everybody does, I think I can never get enough, no matter how many I see! And cattle, too.

Really nice, Ina! Those leaves do have a stained glass look about them! This is what I love about fall...the colors of the leaves, and especially when the sunlight is shining through like it is here. This is the first fall I've gone through that I've been into photography, and it gives it a whole new dimension! Well done! (Thanks for your encouraging comments on my series!) Kathy
