This toad is from South Africa, its quite placid, i was offered to hold him, but I turned that down after finding out that, those lumps with little holes in them release toxins!
This shot has been heavily worked on in PS, the colour in the original was terrible so i salvaged what i could and reworked it in B&W. I have a thing for montone photos also......So tell me if you like it or not? you never said, but thanks all the same for viewing and comment.
Cool, nice bit of history there, glad you like the image, may be would have been better from another angle, but i didn't get the opportunity to do so as the guy holding it was moving really quickly around the group.
Interesting picture! I'm not sure I'd want to hold one either, but the black and white adds effect.
That's a cane toad! :) They caused big problems here in Australia after being introduced to control the a bug pest that had taken over the cane industry... unfortunately the cane toads didn't really like the bugs anyway, and became a pest themselves in the process! So they spread all over Qld, and are still spreading, and they have very few predators. Crows in some areas have learned to drop them from a height and stun them before eating them, some frogs eat the tadpoles of the cane toad, and some dogs get a 'high' from the toxin of the toad (; all random facts...
