I wish you were here a couple of days ago. We had a beautiful Northern Goshawk in the tree just outside our front window. What a magnificant, and large bird. We took a really good look. I didn't wnat to open the door as I figured she'd leave. SO,mI tried a picture through the window, but it's not good. I am sure you'd have been able to do it justice.
I love the stern little look on this guy and the interetwining of the thorns. ANother great shot.

Great shot, Todd!! I like how all the branches criss-cross each other.

Excellent capture, Todd! I know these small birds are very hard to get sometimes!

Hello Alice,

We have quite a few species of Sparrow up here. They are not very colourfull, but are quite varied. This shot was taken from a bit of a distance, so I had to crop it quite a bit to get a decent sized image. That's probably why the detail has suffered. It is still just a point and shoot camera after all, and it does show its limitations in shots like this. I use the software that came with the camera (Photo Studio 5) and I have no idea what I'm doing. ;^)

Thanks for dropping by to comment.

This is beautiful Todd!

We only have two sparrows in Australia, the House, and the Tree, and they're both introduced, but we have quite a lot of native finches which are very colourful!

The only thing that could perhaps be improved is better resolution? But I know birds are hard to take photos of!

I like your simple framing (using Photoshop?) and composition.

Best wishes,
Alice.
