I'm not really sure of the current status of rail gauges in Australia. I know in the past there were some crazy schemes to "convert" from one state to another. I just can't understand how this stupid situation was allowed to develop in the first place - different states, different rail gauges !

I think this is because the engine has been freshly painted Carlos - give it a few months and it'll look like a "real" engine.

The bright light and the angle of view really emphasise the power of this thing. Do they still have to change wheels because of different track widths as they cross the country? Or is that just some nonsense I heard somewhere?

this is another wonderful shot wayne, the perspective from this angle is perfect, I really like the colors and nice detail, very nice!
