Hi Darryl... I was just floating around in my sea kayak one foggy, snowy evening, I believe it was early September. It was basically flat calm, although there is almost always some currents in the ocean, even though it was in a long narrow bay. As it was fairly low light, I had the aperture wide open for most of the pictures I took that day (including one of the iceberg ones near the start of my portfolio). That evening ranks right up there as one of the most memorable times in my almost 11 yrs in the arctic! Thanks for the great comment. Cheers, Gary

ps, actually, I'm more of a wimp than courageous!! But after getting used to paddling in a sea kayak, it was one of the things that I very much enjoyed up there.

Gary,
You must be a very courageous person. Was this view from on the water or on ice? I love the blues you have captured and what appears to be a shaft of light visible through the opening. It would make a wonderful framed picture or computer wallpaper. I'm finding your work fun to look at.
Thanks again
Darryl

Nunavut again! I had thought it was ice cave when first saw it. I once watched this Ice Cave film on the Imax & had been enchanted with ice caves since.
Well, this is nice too. Hopefully I'll get to see blue ice in Alaska this summer.
Thanks for sharing your version of this wonderful nature! This one feels like a painting!

WOW Gary! I just had a look at your portfolio, and I'm in awe! These landscapes are awesome, and done on film too, wow! They are exquisite esthetically speaking, on a higher level than what I thought was possible. Truly exceptional! Incredible beauty, and superb photography! My best compliments, 10+10 Ina

A true enchantement. I like how our sight is driven to the depth of that "cave" set in a golden focal point.

That must ahve been quite a feeling being trapped in this azure wonderland. I love pictures of iceburgs and such, which illustrates that exquisite hue. Thanks for sharing Gary!
