About Spotted this sandfly with a flying ant under his arm and when he landed on these twigs I moved in very slowly-he flew away once and then came back-until I managed to move in really close, put down a beanbag and add an approximation tube to my macro lense. Then I breathed out!Just after this shot he flew off.Notice the spiked tube he has stuck into the back of the ant's neck.He was so absorbed sucking out the juices that he didn't notice me getting closer and closer!

Hi Tony. I wish to thank you for your kind comment. Reading your Bio you have offered Spain to the "Usefilm" family. Antequera is an important town as regards sights. It has some very interesting buildings for lovers of the Renaissance and the baroque in Andalusia. I just might be knocking on your door (Smile). This photo my friend is very good
indeed.Keep up the good work.

Regards,

Tom

True but they don't swoop down on you and stick a bloody great spike into the back of your neck and suck you dry ,do they! Can you imagine if these insects were the size of people.TERRIFYING!!!
Sorry to be so frivolous but today's a HOLIDAY here in Spain and I didn't work,I took photos all morning.
..............Smile, tony.
