About this ios how lucky Alastair and I got on Saturday.

The lakes in October should be shrouded in mist and miserable, but we kept getting these shards of light illuminating parts of the mountains - and being in the car, we just pulled over and captyured them as they happened.

this is just over the summit of Wrynose Pass looking down the valley to Hardknott Pass - if you look the the right of the main shaft of light you caqn just make out the winding road over Hardknott - if you can't see it, you can see how silly the hill is!!!

If we find a decent place to stay, anyone interested in a weekend up there???? Somewhere near a pub to entice our Geordie friends across of course!!!

thumbnail looks crap on this one, I really like it's moodiness, but caus of the thumb, it's got no attention.

Those shards of light were amazing weren't they Ade... and this captures them pretty much as I remember!

Great shot of 'The long and winding road' capturing the sheer desolation of the place...
